Quick Q does VAG get there armoured cars Phaeton & A8 built by an subcontractor still ?

I say this because when PanEuropean Phaeton Mod from vwvortex was in Dresden, I happened to ask about armoured Phaetons, he asked Dresden & they gave him a name of a company that does all armouring for VAG vehicles.
Also no one off the street can buy one they have to be screened 1st apparently.

That's a good question, phaeton. I think some of the European automakers did partner with outside armouring companies. For example, the armoured Volvo S80 was built with the help of O'Gara Hess & Eisenhardt. The armoured Range Rovers were developed working closely with OHE as well. OHE built the US Presidential Limousines for several decades.

From what I have read, most of the cars are built in-house. The MB Guard and BMW High Security are built on a different line at the same factory. I think the VAG cars are likely the same.

a little OT: klier, these days Citroen-Passion may sound a bit funny, but some decades before, in the years of CX and DS and other great cars, there was so much passion... I have been driven in a DS recently and i can assure you that such thing will never be built again. BTW, those cars were considered beauties back then...
