I just hope that if/when the RS8 comes out, it's hardcore in the same sense as the RS4. The S4 is just a big engine, but the RS4 is like a whole different car with huge tires, brakes, a widedbody kit, race seats, insane engine and more. I don't want the RS8 to just be more powerful. The RS4 makes the current M3 look tame and pedestrian. RS8 should do the same to the upcoming S63 AMG. I put AMG and Audi's S line on the same level, both have bigger brakes and engines but that's honeslty about it. The RS line is just a somthing totally different. Everything has been uprated, and I just love it. I think Audi did a wonderful job with the RS4 and I hope the following RS models follow in its footsteps.

It certainly is an exciting idea in theory, but I trust the Audi boys on this one (Audiholic and Audi4Life), if they say it will never happen, then it probably never will.
