I've only seen a picture of an armoured W140 used by Chancellor Kohl. I think it's interesting that the cars are likely bought directly from Mercedes-Benz. Never have I read about the factory putting in extra features. I always thought the cars would be commissioned like the American presidential limousine, which for years was worked on by O'Gara Hess Eisenhardt.

Doesn't Tony B have a Range Rover as well? About a year or so ago, I saw him on the BBC use the Rover quite regularly. I think the Jag is his official car. There's going to be an armoured Jag available to the masses shortly. It's not the same as the PM's, but maybe he ought to buy a Cadillac stretch since the Brits are so chummy with the Americans.

Thanks, choleric. I love armoured cars so the video was great viewing. It is very rare to see the interior and engine bay of these vehicles. Did you see how thick that window is? It's only B6 so it's not even the highest possible armouring for the glass.
Perhaps it's me, but I think it's a terrible idea showing these cars at auto shows where anyone can see and touch them. The market for these vehicles is so small and those who need it would go to Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc.. to buy them. Armoured cars have become status symbols. These vehicles are used by dignitaries, Heads of State, business leaders so they should not be displayed in a car show like a two-cent Kia.
