Strange, I thought most of us here were tired with the same old Audi headlight design.

Audi's faux pas was the late life major facelift of the A4, they took design elements from a car well into final developments and applied it as major cosmetic surgery to a current model. All because of the introduction of the 3 series. I am sure the nose job could have waited. So we end up with a new A4 that is all to familiar looking.

Other than that I don't think they have mis stepped more than any other manufacturer. BMW had a major bangle wobble but have come back handsomely, Mercedes is a little all over the place currently experimenting in public with different design themes since the 2003-2005 highlights such as the SLR, CLS and S class. Audi have just been Audi much like Porsche stubbornly sticking to a single design language and updating in an evolutionary manner and smart model introductions. Its worked for both of them in terms of market share, revenue increase. why fix what is not broke. When Audi does make a major design language change it will when they are on the defensive and need to fight to remain relevant, right now by all accounts they are on the ascendancy globally.

Back on topic Judging by the video and by that i'm judging too soon, the new A8 appears significantly different from the current model but you right it is not attempting to be a land shark mk II.

So the black stretched A4 in the video is the new A8?

I like what i am seeing.

Very trapezoidical grill, amazing risk taking approach by Audi joke apart i think it's going another incredibly stunning clean & sharp design.

I know that I will get a bit off topic here, but I think it's quite interesting:

I saw an A2 on the road earlier today, and it really surprised me, because even though it's production have ceased some years ago, it looks like it's still in production. I mean that Audi still has the same lines on their cars, and aim at this clean and elegant design, which to be honest it's the same at the last 2 generations. They need to do something much more than that. You can't just make a new model, by changing the upper angles of the previous model's grill! It's enough with evolutionary design. I want something revolutionary.

Sure it looks good and simple. But these designs have been here for ten years! The new A8 is already old, and it's not out yet!
