^^^That looks really good. I s'pose I could do a little photofumbling as well. I tried to get a good idea of how dual projectors would look and I guess this is close (I believe the A8 should have dual lamps anyways). Added the LEDs from an S6 and removed the middle section of the grille. Subtler changes consist of the lowered and enlarged emblem, and a slightly lowered roof in an effort to better convey the A8's size.



Btw people, this isn't how I honestly think it'll look. It's just close to how I wish it would look.

Great job on the second PS, not to sure on the first one, it looks to small and tall..nothing like an A8 but the second one looks great

That chop is terrible, the car looks like an overgrown A4. I certainly hope that the new S8 won't get those fussy head light clusters Audi seem to be into these days.

I like it to, it has the sweeping waves of the A5. Seems the A5 is going to make a design impression for Audi across the board for the entire line.
Time will tell.

Thats part of the new-age design funk going on in Germany. It will be beautiful on the A8. put your worries in the trash man. Look up and aim high.

Ok this is royalty we're messing with here. This is a 3-Series/CL/SL/S level car, i.e. it simply cannot be "messed up". I don't like anyting I've seen in this thread so far except the current A8 body shells being used as test mules. Audi is really going to have to roll up their sleeves and re-think the luxury car to replace the current version with something better. I really hope it doesn't turn out to be a cut and paste of current Audi's on a bigger body.

I've see the S8 once in a while here and it's absolutely spotless. Subtle, high quality luxury. Judging by the latest Audis I don't expect Audi to have gone bananas with the new A8. Shape should be very similar to the current generation and a sprinkle of LEDs here and there. I certainly hope that the shaping of the LEDs in head light housing will be more sterile compared with the ones on the R8 and A4. Perhaps LEDs in the bumper for a more executive look like the Q7 V12?

My main concern is interior quality. Audi seem to be in a phase of decreased interior quality. The interior quality feel of the new A4 and A5 is not on the same level as the A4 B7 and A3. Audi can't afford to damage the image of the A8, especially in the US where they are still fighting to fully establish the brand. Things are cut throat these days, especially when Mercedes is on a roll with superb interior quality. Not only that but the S-class will be facelifted next year too, Audi better have one hell of a A8 to show the world in 2009.

It's a bit dull that Audi won't show us sh*t before it's time for the car to be unveiled. On the other hand Audi has a tendency to exhibit concept giving good hints about what to expect for cars coming out in the next year or so. So there is a good chance that they are preparing some big sized concept for the Paris show. Take a look at the interior of previous concepts and you'll see that they have more or less been copy and pasted into production cars.

Audi dis that with the new A4. The test mules were the B6 platform, but longer and biger. This is how Audi works. They only used the true car covered to test it when it is a new segment, like Q5.

The current Audi A8 has been on sale since 2003 and since that time has only received a minor facelift to keep it fresh alongside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Lexus LS and soon-to-be superseded BMW 7-series. The minor styling changes implemented during the recent facelift will have to soldier on for a few more years as the next-generation ‘D4’ A8 isn’t expected to arrive until 2010.

A prototype for the car has already been spotted undergoing cold testing, hidden beneath the current D3 body. Tell-tale signs that the prototype was the next-generation model included the extended fender flares, stretched wheelbase and wider track.
Under the new sheet metal will be an extended version of the modular platform used in the A4, but expect to see more exotic materials such as aluminum and magnesium employed to help save weight and improve dynamics. The engine lineup will likely mirror the current range, starting with a 2.8L petrol V6 and topping out 4.2L V8 FSI and possibly the carmaker’s new 6.0L V12 TDI. There will also be more supercharged units as well as increased application of Audi’s latest valve-lift system. The 6.0L W12 engine is reportedly being phased out due to its high costs and emissions.
The base model will remain FWD but AWD variants will feature the latest quattro torque vectoring systems, which distribute drive individually between each axle and between the rear wheels for improved traction and stability.
