Does that really play into the decision, I mean the RS 6 is a four door saloon while the Gallardo is a two seat sports car, they don't really compete with each other.

Anyways I voted for NA because Audi has moved away from turbos in there RS cars so why would they go back? Plus a NA V-10 would compete directly with the M5/6 so Audi could really show how well they can make an engine compared to these guys.

lOl, I agree with Just_me here. On top of that why would thay give the RS4 the enjoyments of N/A and not do the same with the coming RS6.

Well Audi only gave the S8 480hp. I think that audi needs to develop their own super engine instead of using one from Lamborghini. The Gallardo is holding back Audi a bit too much.

If the M5 can pretty much beat the Gallardo at higher speeds...and audi doesn't want the Rs 6 to beat the Gallardo in a straight-line, how will the RS 6 beat the M5???? Uness of course...Audi intends to make the Rs6 faster than the Gallardo.

The reason why the M5 beats the G in a sraight line is because of the bimmers much more superior transmission. The RS6 will be quite a heavy car and will next substancial amount of power to beat the M5 + compensate for the added weight. It will beat the g in a straight line but probably using a turbo charged engine. Using a 530hp V10 would be great but that would be wack becasue it will also be identical to the one sitting in the Gallardo S and would make the R8 and its engine look even more sissy.

Maby Lamborghini will give the Gallardo a powerboost by the time the RS6 comes on the scene.

To compensate for the extra weight it will need more torque not power. Ofcourse since HP can be seen as a multiple of torque (and viceversa), more of both will be fine.

Power [PS] = Torque [Nm] x Speed [1/min] / 7019
Torque [Nm] = 7019 x Power [PS] / Speed [1/min]

Both the M and Lambo V10s are torque wimps compared to AMGs V8.
But a Gallardo is a lot lighter. The M5/M6 seem to have, due to their engine + gearbox, fantastic high speed vigour. The ///M engine really starts to come alive at ~180 Km/h.

Thats excatly what I was thinking.....I really do think that audi should either make the car light enough....or give it a torquey engine.
