I agree, but what they'll likely do when at such a meeting is discuss how to share the cost of making their outrageous hp outputs "greener" and more efficient. As you see, slowly but surely the 155 mph gentleman's agreement is falling by the wayside.

The RS6 is going to be a great car. No doubt. But I'll be the wet blanket here and say the power's too much. I prefer Audi to follow a more efficient philosophy - to use less power and yet maintain the same kind of performance. I really do not see ultra-powerful cars with bi-turbo V10s with a lasting future. It just seems like an overkill.

True, but Audi has to have more power because of the extra drivetrain and usually weight their RS models carry compared to M/AMG models. Even with all this power I bet the car won't break the 4 second mark from 0-60 mph. The next AMG E and M5 will I bet. Then again with 575hp it just might. This is going to be one of the highlights next month!

Very true again. I guess the weight deficit caused by quattro does justify the power output somewhat. That torque will serve quattro well.

You guys need to remember that cars are getting heavier each generation. Blame the worlds regulations for that, and therefore to raise the performance bar cars need more power. Simple as that really. If it keeps on like this though BMW and mercedes are gonna have to go 4wd
