I'm not saying BMW's interior's aren't nice, but it's not Audi's equal. Audi's S-Line has a totally different philosophy then BMW's M-division Klier, BMW's M is suppose to be the definition of driving dynamics, where Audi's S-Line represents the middle ground between luxury and performance! BMW's CSL doesn't offer equal amenties as the standard M3, it has to sacrifice a good number of creature comforts in order to shed access weight. Audi's RS division has no intention of sacrificing it's 1st rate interior amenties in order to achieve such performance, it wouldn't fit Audi's philosophy, or it's consumer base imho. Kinda like a number of BMW loyaliest believe a supercar doesn't fit BMW's philosophy!
S4 vs. E90 335i
RS4 vs. E90 M3
S5 vs. E92 335i
RS5 vs. E92 M3
RS6 vs. M5
Well atleast we both agree with the RS6 and the M5 being rivals, which doesn't make much sense considering you think S and M are rivals and not RS and M. Why the change of heart? |
I do not think Audi's cost more cause of their interior (or not largely cause of them), cause while they are nice, they are definitely not 10 grand better than the BMW ones. I think the cost difference has more to do with all the quattro hardware. And there in I think lies the problem with Audi - it's strength - AWD - is also its weakness when it comes to pricing. When getting an Audi (at least a powerful one), you have no option but to pay for quattro - which probably restricts the potential buyers to people who specifically need or think they need AWD and is ready to pay the premium for it.
Disclaimer: I just made all that up, so it is all probably just bs.
And as for what model compares with what, while forum warriors like to compare cars with similar performance, potential buyers compare cars of similar price (and of course type).
