I agree with James & co that the A6's rear, with its trapezoid shapes, is really nice...

Comparing it to the new A5 isn't really fair Rob, as the A6's design is older.
Although the rear lights look good on the picture of the S5 you posted, I still don't like them because they remind me too much of a BMW, somehow they aren't very Audi-ish.

So what I would prefer to see is that they introduce LED lights on the A6's taillights, like they did with the FL'ed BMW 5er.
That together with some minor changes should be more than enough...

well I dont think anyone who hasnt seen both in the flesh can comment, but pictures always let the A6 down. Images just dont seem to be able to catch the A6's full beauty

Imo, Audi should release the facelifted A6 together with the RS6. That would make the RS6 "newer".

What exactly are you saying? I must be reading to much into what I think your saying or something, because it reads as if your saying Audi should present the A6 new platform and the RS6 which uses the current Audi platform at the same time.

The RS6 will have the changes from the facelifted A6. I 'm not sure that the rear lights will change though , the spy pics of the RS6we have seen don't show any changes.

BMW released M5 Touring at the same time as the facelift so I agreee with you facelift A6 and RS6.

You do have a good point there Ruben, there is a passing resemblance to BMW. But I think Audi is developing a strong new design language that is much more figurative than we have seen from them in the past. It will still keep the relatively clean/flat surfaces (which is different from BMW) but incorporate more interesting details -- like the shape and construction of the lights etc.
