I hated the film, only saw the first.
Because I had read the books! Really good thrillers, amongst the best I've read, Ludlum at his best.
And the film, well, I think the producer did not read the books when he made the film!!!
it's a pity to turn such good books in such crap film, why Matt Damon? Read the book and you'll see it is nothing to compare with.
And now they destroy 7 wonderful G-Classes?
Who made this film, I will give him my punch in the face for that! | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to coolraoul For This Useful Post: | | | Moderator

Yes you really should, they are mind-blowing if you like that kind of books. Ludlum is the king of these spy-books.
I also loved "the Matarese Circle" from him, this one and the Bourne-series are the best of him.
You will forget the films rather quickly after having read them! And nobody who has read them can call Bourne "the lamest spy ever", whereas it really is the impression the films gives you! | | | | | Fanatic

Err... I haven't read the books. But I do know that Hollywood always mangle a good book turning into a predictable, exaggerated film with a bland as it gets actor. Oh and I read The Holcroft Covenant, though.
Apart from the blatant and unbelievably annoying Ford product placement, Casino Royale is my favourite film of the 007 series, because they kept faithful to what I believe, the best James Bond book written by Ian Fleming. | | | | | Fanatic

Trouble with this film is that Bourne is really far from been like in the film. it really does not correspond to the Bourne of the books.
The only things common between this film and these books are the name and the main "memory" story, the rest is not really accurate and the whole ambiency of the books is not transcribed into the film.
It is oppressing, often dark, really a major book, a real discovering of his identity, with every piece coming after the other and forming an image that threatens Bourne himself, leading him to do things and to take risks he normally never would do or take... And then he discovers the truth, difficult to admit, after a machination of his employeers...
After that, the other books, each as good as the other...
The film has nothing to do with it.
Concerning Bond, well, I liked Casino Royale a lot, excellent film. But I have to admit that I never read any of Ian Flemings' books!
So, Kowalsky, are they good? Worth reading them, or the films are enough?
Sometimes you have excellent films based on crap books, for instance in France "OSS 117", don't know if you saw it? Maybe not outside France or Europe... It is a rather stupid but attaching secret agent, really funny film, based on books that are not worh spending one second reading them...
How is Ian Fleming then, should I read one? | | | | | Devotee

^who says that the movies have to follow the book exactly? The bourne film series was awesome-i was just pissed that they didn't throw any GLs in the mix of that crash. | | | | | Enthusiast

Save for the SsangYong Rodius, Fiat Multipla and one or two French MPVs, I think the is the ugliest modern car on the roads today, and by far the worst product of the 'Bangle era'. There is not one single angle from which it looks attractive to me (except from directly underneath, perhaps!) A lot of owners seem to have chosen it in spite of its looks, not because of them. I have no doubt that the engines and drivetrain etc. are up to BMW's usual quality standards, but overall I consider the build quality, fit, finish and interior to be below par for a premium marque. Indeed, in this respect I don't believe it's any better than a Focus or Astra. Just my opinion, but one which seems to be shared by many here in the UK where it is commonly referred to as 'the bread van', and it's not difficult to see why. Some dealers are doing huge discounts on them, practically giving them away. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Mockenrue For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
