She – and I – didn’t stop beaming until we handed back the car a week later. At which stage I almost cried with pain at the parting.
I’m not sure how many women feel this way about cars but for me, a self-confessed V8 freak thanks to my long-gone father, nothing, absolutely nothing, beats the sound of one of these engines
