Crash safety of A5 - 09-19-2007, 06:38 AM

Hi all

I am considering an A5 but only if it gets 5 stars at Euro NCAP. Problem is I can't find a test on it.

The Q7 only got 4 stars..

Does anyone have any crash test info?

Tks

I think you have to wait til Euro NCAP crash test a A4 to get some sort of indication of the level of crash production for the A5, since they share the same front end crash structure.

The Q7 got 4 Stars because of poor welding design. A few spot welds was burst apart during the Q7 crash test, which cause an unwanted amount of footwell intrusion.

4 stars isnt a dangerous thing. Dont let Eurocap results fool you. if you want a A5 buy one, its not a death trap becuase of 4 or 5 stars.
