In what way? Having two doors less?

But I don't care at all. It's all marketing anyways. I like A5 way more than A4 coupe. Just like I wouldn't mind BMW calling the 3er coupe 4-series (like they call 5er coupe 6-series)...the only mayor problem there is the M3 name obviously.

I've also heard some weird explanations as well why 4er label was dropped.

Eg. "Vierer" pronunciation too similar to "Fuehrer".
Also: in Japanese language 4 has the same pronunciation as their word for "death".

Simlar case with 2er. Hint: BMW 2-series = BMW too serious.

But I guess that's just BS.

I don't know. I prefer a A4 coupé tag, it seems more appropriate. People now would be wondering where the A4 cabriolet went to...

On the other hand, the A5 tag allows Audi to market the A5 coupé and (possibly) cabriolet higher than the A4. Which allows people's perception of it being an A4 coupé to be discarded, allowing the A5 to compete with the higher echelons...

And the 6er sounds too much like 'sex'. I think it's BS too.

I'm too don't expected that the A4 and A5 will be so seemed.
But now, although a4/a5 to lose its proper characteristics, that images of preview of A4 b8 looks great

It seems like you always have something negative to say for almost every single Audi product Eni. To each his own.

I have to agree that this idea is pretty silly, indeed. The A5 is essentially an A4 coupe, that we've known long before the actual car was released(not to mention the name). So saying does it "deserve to wear a separate 'label'?" is trite, in combination with your constant Audi bashing. Not every car company works like BMW, however successful the company may be.
