I don't think it's a bad car at all. In fact, i reckon it's actually a pretty good car. If someone interested in a sportscar were to walk into an Audi dealership and test drive the thing, they'll come back with a smile on their face. But if they were to walk into a BMW dealership afterwards and test drive a 3 Series coupe, they'll pretty mch say that the BMW is the better car.

It's far from bieng a crappy car. C'mon!

In oposite: it's an excellent car.

The problem was in too high anticipation of new Audi platform - everybody expected something spectacular (since Audi officials claimed it would be a huge improvement in driving dynamics) yet the result is definitely spectacular. It is an improvement but many expected much more - forgetting it was still a FWD platform!

Bad reviews are due to high anticipation, not due the car is so bad.

Its seems like MB did better with C-class. C-class is closer in driving dynamics to E90 than A5 is to E92

Upon some reflection after reading some of the posts here, I changed my mind. This isn't a disappointing review at all... It's just that expectations of a BMW-like driving experience that were up in the clouds weren't met. But the S5 is still by and large an excellent car by all other accounts.

What do you mean closer? According to some Greek magazines new C class is better than E90 in driving dynamics.

Sunday times and 4Car are hardly the best sources to read about a car. In fact if they wrote good words about A5 noone would even start a thread about their tests.

BTW EnI what do you mean FWD platform? There is no such thing unless of course the 3 series has an AWD platform because xDrive is ued in some models.

What chance would the new A4 have of beating the E90?

Assuming it'll be less sporty than the A5.

From the british magazines i've been reading (Car, AutoCar, AutoExpress and TopGear) the BMW E90 is still a better drivers car than the new C Klasse.

Then i might not remember correctly but overall i 'm quite sure they said that C class won the comparison. Maybe the same will happen with A5. Not winning in the driving dynamics but still better overall than E92.
