So long for Audi hoping to see the end of the "boring to drive" cars. I knew they weren't going to beat BMW in driving dynamics, but to be honest I was expecting a little less harsh critics on the subject, especially since they have been all out with the platform thing. But the A5\S5 is still the same as all the other Audis, when the journalist says that all he kept thinking was of the other Audis, it's basically saying that there hasn't been an improvement at all. It's really sad, cause the S5 is starting to look hotter.

they do, such as comfort, practicality, design, equipment, safety. They offer the same as other carbrands do. (Richboy your dislike for BMW is little too obvious).

Really? sure there are some who says so (such as Autobild) but I seen tests where they say Z4 has better driving dynamics than TT.
Only thing I can agree on here is A8 vs 7er and 130i vs S3 (but 135i is going to change that )

Audi TT has beaten not only Z4 but also Porsche Cayman in several tests.

For example:

The Porsche Cayman lands at the last place - it is much too expensive. Before it that ranks driving dynamically somewhat disappointing BMW Z4 Coupé. Winner becomes the balanced however not completely so emotion-filled AUDI TT.

Sorry Yannis but that Cayman comparison doesn't hold much water because the TT won the OVERALL comparison with engine power and price taken into account. As for driving dynamics and comfort the Cayman won the comparison. The Cayman is so far above the TT on the hierarchy ladder.
As for the Z4 it is build with a different philosophy than the TT. It is built to be offer the raw and slightly out of control experience giving the driver offering something very thrilling and challenging.

and Z4 and Cayman has also beaten TT (for instance sportauto), what the TT never has beaten Z4 and Boxster is driver involvement and driving fun.

BTW regarding 130i that car beated A3 3.2Q in driving dynamics until S3 entered the scene.

Also claiming a car has better driving dynamics without showing slalomspeeds or laptimes, thats worth nothing, present it with numbers or else its pointless to argue about.

Here are some very interesting lines from 4 car review, explaining A5's "dull driving dyinamics":

Quote:
Why the dull dynamics? And why waste all that effort in developing the new platform? Audi's chief chassis engineer agrees with our assessment and would like things to be different, but Audi's marketing department insisted that the A5 must feel familiar to existing Audi owners. Which suggests that a) those owners would be unable to appreciate an improvement, which is an odd stance to take, and b) that Audi isn't interested in attracting buyers from BMW. The marketeers have shot themselves in the foot, then.
