V10 or V8 bi turbo. Both with 480 hp output.

Both engines have already been tested in RS5 test mules.

I don't have info if a final decision has been made yet

If Audi uses the Bi-Turbo V10 that will take the RS5 to a whole new level imo.
It will kill the competition.

I'm not seeing a V10 5.0TFSI engine in the RS5, but a N/A V10 5.2 FSI Valve-Lift engine with 480 Hp is most likely.
Don't forget BMW can simply put a V10 in the M3 when they think it's necessary.

I highly doubt that. M philosophy goes beyond shoehorning the biggest available engine into a car.

I don't believe a V10 is necessary, I say keep the V8 and save the two extra cylinders for S6/RS6 territory. I'd like to add something however; when the hell are we going to get DSG?! The technological prowess is already there (Veyron hello), and I wouldn't be surprised if the M3 got SMG, so I think this should be optional at the very least. What's the holdup?


(I still think there should be a more powerful 500hp S8 and a 600+hp TT W12 RS8 but that's for another section!)

A more powerfull S8 is in the making if rumours are correct.
With either a 480-500 hp N/A 5.2 V10 FSI or a 500+ hp 5.0 V10 Bi-TFSI.

My guess is the same but you can bet it will be more powerful than that. The CLK63 AMG already stands at 481ps, Audi will go beyond that, The RS6 is at the thick end of 600hp. The RS5 will cover at least 500hp or maby a little better.
