Re: Audi A5 Official Thread II

I think it is interesting that even on the Manual transmission, they have a button for the parking brake, I for one would like an actual lever in a manual car, not an electronic switch.

Re: Audi A5 Official Thread II

That's a good point. Not only does Audi craft first class interiors, they also consider the distribution and placement of materials.

A manual parking brake is out of date.
It's not from this time anymore.

Hans.

The A6 has it too, it was maybe the first Audi model to offer m/t and electronic parking brake. (Audi experts?)

Re: Audi A5 Official Thread II

I realize we have seen it before, but on a manual transmission? What if the electronics fail? Your car would roll away right?

A6 has manual transmission in Europe. My uncle has an A6 Avant with manual and at least his car is equipped with the electronic parking brake. I think it's quite fail safe because VW Passat also has just a button.

Oh I though he meant which Audi was first to have the electronic parking brake.
