In sweden there is going to be a 1.8T with 170hp for A5 and a very low price (lower than the topversion of Volvo V70). The cheapest 6er cost almost 3 times more than the cheapest A5.
So in my opinion A5 compete with 3er Coupe and not 6er.
Also the A5 is getting similar prices as A4 here in Sweden. Another reason why it doesnt compete with 6er. | | | | | Banned

I guess their trying 2 kill to birds with 1 stone. Do you know which model it's closer to in size? | | | | | Global Moderator

IMO, it's sorta like with the CLK, in between the 3er & 6er... only the A5 i would consider closer to the 3er.
All I know is that I had the money to shop for a 6er, I wouldn't even consider the A5. But to each his own I guess. Quote:

Hmm the pricing came out huh?
I am dissapointed, I can get an S4 for almost the price of a 3.2 A5.
Hopefully the A5 is a beast performance wise, I guess we'll have to find out.
And with the S5 being almost 10K more than a 335i it better out perform it, which I am skeptical, but we'll see. | | | | | Global Moderator

So if Audi enters the american market with a six cylinder, it is not aiming directly at the 6er. | | | | | Justice

This will not compete against the 6er, Audi was aiming directly at the 3er with this, hence the similar pricing but as usual the Audis are more expensive. Get what you pay for I guess. Audi has been saying for a long time they need a competitor for the 3er coupe. And the RS5 wil compete against the M3 not any 6er. | | | | | Advocate

Audis are usually cheaper than BMW's and Mercedes' in the UK. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
