It's kind of interesting though isn't it? To my knowledge Audi do not offer the DSG / S-Tronic transmission in cars with the longitudinal quattro application. Yannis, has a way been engineered yet by Audi to combine S-Tronic with Torsen-based quattro?

It won't roll anywhere if you leave the gear on. Turn off the engine, leave gear 1st or 2nd even 5th on and release the clutch, the car might move few inches first but then it's on a standstill.

Little off topic, but does he know anything about the new RS6?

Audi is working on a 7 speed S-Tronic/DSG gearbox to be used in the new MLP platform (meaning longitudinally mounted engine and Torsen C) for the last 2-3 years. A preview of that gearbox was shown in Roadjet:

The Audi Roadjet Concept combines the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) with twin clutch in conjunction with a longitudinally installed engine. DSG combines the advantages of a manual gearbox - with 7-speeds in this latest version - with the qualities of a modern automatic transmission providing smooth acceleration without interruptions to the flow of power from the engine, while maintaining fuel efficiency.

S-Tronic will replace Tiptronic in all future models.

Re: Audi A5 Official Thread II

If Audi has been working on this for the past two to three years, this technology should be ready for mass production, no?
