The A8 doesn't have a manual.
Ah I see, I guess I have never seen one in the States, I guess you just have to trust technology.

I'm sure that you have allready mentioned but still, I don't have enough nervs to search all posts...

So my question is if the DSG (S-Tronic in Audi's case) will be avaliable in A5? And if it's true that 3.0 TDI will be avaliable just with manual transmition? And 2.7 TDI with Multitronic? Or will the both be equipted or with manual or with automatic transmition?

I'm also waiting to hear an answer from Audi on the availability of DSG for the A5, it wouldn't make any sense not to have it??? They've had more than enough time to engineer the gearbox for longitudinal configurations.

A longtitudinal 7speed DSG box is currently being readied for production by both Audi and Porsche. The 997 and B8 based cars will be the first recipients.

I'm guessing DSG will come very soon, because they haven't announced any Tiptronic option for the A5 yet. Either that's a very big mistake or they're preparing for DSG launch. I say, the latter.

Tiptronic hasn't been announced cause S-Tronic (DSG) will replace it in all future Audis. We don't know when Audi will launch details about the DSG but i guess we will know very soon.

Welcome. Interesting info - will the transmission work for both fwd and awd configurations in the longitudinal application?

Thanks for the welcome. I found the site by accident when the pictures were leaked last week!

The information comes from a friend of mine who is ex-Audi and now semi retired. He has several useful contacts within Audi UK and is always a reliable source. His past predictions regarding some of the other recent new models have been pretty much spot on.

I'm hoping to go to Geneva in a couple of weeks to see the new cars. I can't wait!

Thanks again. This I don't know, but I would imagine (and hope) so. As soon as I hear any more either way I'll post it up. Everyone is waiting with baited breath to hear more about these cars. Has anyone seen any official weights published anywhere? I haven't found any yet.
