I'm not againt a new direction, but imo this isn't the right one.. the car doen't look like a it's one peace like all other Audis. It lookes like every part of it was made saparately and then everything was put together shortly before the premiere.. sorry for sounding harsh, but i'm an Audi fan as well and this is definitely not the design harmony what I was expecting!

Funny! I thought of the Elantra as well when I saw the "rise" on the front fender.

To the credit of Hyundai... they're getting better and better. That Elantra is still a stinker though.

I don't feel as though this is any direction at all. This feels like an amalgamation design where every secion of the car seems like a different idea bonded together with some completely unrelated ideas. We're used to seeing that kind of tomfoolery come out of Ford's studio, but not Audi's.

Sure, we said the same things about the Z4's lack of cohesion when it debuted, but in the end the car was a very exciting and complex object to behold, love it or hate it. The A5, on the other hand, doesn't elict much emotion at all. I'm supposed to be feeling "sexy coupe with tons of class." Instead my brain is seeing large hatchback.

Well I think it is a great looking car .....although from some angles, I am not so in love with it. However, I can't say I am disappointed with the overall result.

While the new A5 is quite handsome, it does strike me as being a bit derivative. It doesn´t appear as though the exterior design offers anything that could be considered patently eye-arresting. Pretty, but hardly breathtaking.

Eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see this car in the metal. Perhaps only then can one fully appreciate the cars´ presence.

Try as I may... I just can't get into it. I could almost salvage a "Well, it's not very striking, but it is very classy and handsome." but the angular, and very staccato-looking rear lights break form with what could be a very black tie motif.

What happened to the playbook that sculpted the beautiful rears on the A3 sportback and R8? They tossed it out for... nothing really. It's a shape that says nothing about the car's pretentions. It's not futurist and sedate... it's not low-key and classy... it seems more like a "Transformers Shape" pulled from the Honda or Acura playbook, but even they are handling such details better nowadays.
