Amazing experience...

I was merging onto the 101 off of Valley Circle today, when along side me pulls up an RS4 that is owned by someone I've seen driving around locally in the area. Anyways, before you merge there is a stop sign, so I sped up as this guy raced to get there before me. I don't know what kind of driving courses this guy has enrolled in, because the way he launched the car was spectacular, it's almost like he wasn't driving a stick, not once did the car dive or squat as he snickered from gear to gear. O that sound from the exhuast though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is quite like it. Period. This is the kind of stuff dreams are made of.

nice story man...must've been nice to hear that sound and get you ass kicked by an RS4...LOL. It's cool man...i've had my ass handed to me by a F430 and a Gallardo. I never really raced them...i'd have to be stupid to do that...but I cought up to them and waved them to go so they did...so sweet to hear the V8 ferrar and the V10 gallardo...

I never quite liked the low-brow note of the RS4 as compared to screaming V8s/V10s of Ferrari and Lamborghini. But nice story anyhow, it must have been quite an experience.

Re: Amazing experience...

I wouldn't define the RS4's exhaust as "low brow", more like mechanically amplified. Meaning it sounds more mechanical than some acoustic manipulation of the exhuast to produce a certain sound, as many engineers do just that for their latest and greatest uber car so that it sounds "cool", but to the car enthusiast this is quite contrived being that we are so keen on every aspect of a cars development, especially the engineering that's gone into it. Give me an RS4 and I'll straight pipe it, that would be like a lroaring lion on the freeway.
