Cool Audi RS4 Abt - No speed limiter. - 03-02-2006, 09:42 AM

Huh, that was quick. Just announced some weeks ago, the Audi RS4 already received an upgrade by Abt Sportsline. And it's pretty impressive!

German tuner Abt Sportsline believes that 250 km/h isn't enough for such a performance car like the Audi RS4, therefore they "killed" the speed limiter and enhanced the top speed to 282 km/h.

In addition they provide some new 20 inch alloy rims as seen on the pictures.

Love it, minus the wheels. Always stock rims.

How much faster does it need to be and how fast would you ever expect to go and where would you do it if you even had an RS4????? Educate me, please.

try a race track! DUH.

But thats not the point. The point is I'm a little dissapointed that the engine cant push that little car any faster. Because its potential is maxedd at 282 km/h that means it has very little acceleration at speeds past 150 mph compared to say, oh an M5. Because the closer you get to the limit the slower you accelerate to that limit. If you have looked at acceleration curves you might no what im trying to get at.

Matt, you're my buddy, but I doubt that not only you, but a host of millions of other would be speed junkies couldn't even control a car going at those speeds.

Take your RS4 to a track? Only a fistfull of M owners ever take their M's to the track at all. Here's what you do if you ever want to track an RS4 or any other car for that mattter; Schedule a euro delivery of your car and reserve a day and time at ther Nurbrigring sometime after w/ a licensed professional instructor. Then, once you've done about 43 laps of practice on the ring, get 1 good lap in on your own. You'll be there for sometime, say a few months, have spent a ton of money on "ring" lessons, but by the time you've got that one good lap in, I assure you that by the time it's all said and done, both you and your RS4 will feel very accomplished.

Nah buddy! Thats not my point. Of course you dont go that fast in your car. But it tells you something about how fast the car accelerates at free way and auto bahn speeds. For example if the car only has potental to go 175 the accelertion curve is going to be lower than a car that goes 200. Which means the time it would take you to go from 80 to 130 in an RS4 would be quite a bit longer compared to an M5's time (which has a 200 mph potential).
