B5 sunroof help?

Hi all, Im messaging on behalf of a mate who owns a B5 A4 and is having trouble with his sunroof. Every time he leaves the car locked up the sunroof opens on its own accord. He is just wondering if there is anyway to bypass the sunroof electrics to stop it doing this as he is starting up a new business in what is believed to be quite a rough area. The car has done over 180,000 miles and he is hoping to replace it in the near future with a B6 or Passatt so he doesnt really want to spent any money on the car. Any ideas for a cheap quick fix would be much appreciated:-)

Cheers

Dan

un plug it?

I'm not too sure, try the simple things like replacing the fuse, that could be shorting and causing it to open!

Cheers, I think he has already checked that. I had suggested taking the fuse out completely to him, but i was worried incase anything important might be running off the same fuse.

see if anything else is listed on the fuse chart with the sunroof, if not pull it. If anything else doesn't work you know why.

Try cleaning the connectors in the switch.

Yeah, i havent actually looked at the fuses board yet as my mate lives over 30miles away but i might be poppin round to look at it with him t,mora. i was just wondering if the fuse for the roof was attached to anythin that may need reprograming or recoding if the fuse is pulled out as i had trouble previously with a 2001 Laguna i owned by doing is. ah il have to mention about the switch to him, the other thing i thought is dose anyone know if it has a manual over ride with a handle hidden s,where?

cheers for the help so far guys
