2014 Audi S4 and S5 Massively Lighter, To Use Turbo Fours

Audi are allegedly planning to drop the S4 / S5 to 4 cylinders.

imo, with the turbo and supercharger set-up like the 1.4TFSI, a 2.0TFSI 4 cylinder could easily produce power figures slightly below the new 3.0T. Enough to make the 2014 (B9?) S4 faster than the B8 S4. Lighter, more fuel efficient, better weight distribution, lower CO2 and probably faster. I think Audi is heading in the right direction here

Not a bad idea. The 4 cylinder pot in the TT-RS seem like a good fit.

Huh? Do you mean 4 pot engine in the TT-S or 5 cylinder engine in the TT-RS?

2014...that's a little too far down the road, too early to speculate anything.

A 4-cylinder 'S' car? I'd hate for that to happen.

Not if it can provide the same kind of performance. Of course, it's not going to sound the same.
