I don't know if it's fake but you are partially right, 260 hp is too little for S3. I 'm still hoping for a high revving 3.2 lt V6 with 300+ hp.

I was hoping for the new 3.6 Quattro engine. Maybe 290-300hp.

VW Passat already makes 280 hp out of that engine. It would be easy for Audi to pump 300 hp but perhaps the weight of that engine is an issue.

But then again... We know Audi are "careful" with their S-models. I doubt that it will have over 300 hp. It it wil have 285-295, I will be glad. But 260 is just insanity.

A 3.2 litre VR6 engine weight 65 Kg more then a 2.0T FSI engine.
For example a Audi A3 2.0T FSI Quattro weight 1430 Kg and a Audi A3 3.2 Quattro 1495 Kg.
Audi want a sporty S3 there for a 3.2 or 3.6 litre VR6 is out of the question and it will get a 2.0 FSI K04 Turbo engine with 260 hp.
With a few more weight saving parts is will be a class of its own.
And futher Audi delivers the basics, tuners can do the rest, a chipt new S3 will go simpel past the 300 hp.

That's what I was about to mention as well. It's not all about the HP and I'm glad Audi are figuring that out. They can put the 4.2 engine in the A3 if they wanted to, but that would be useless because understeer would be a huge problem. The 1 Series is going through the same thing I believe.... they are debatting whether to put the new 3.0liter or not, because they don't want to damage the handling.

In any case... this 260hp and 2.0T for the S3 is pure bs for me.

I just want to add. I know you are disappointed about S8 so dont be surprised if S3 is a disappointment for you as well.

Yeah... but 260hp for the S3 while 3.2 Q has 250 is one thing: SO STUPID!
