MTM takes Audi S3 to 325bhp -
04-07-2007, 11:51 AM
German tuner MTM has been hard at work on the Audi S3, with a range of upgrades that encompasses brakes, suspension and engine. In its most extreme state of tune the MTM S3 produces 325bhp, up from the standard 262bhp, while 306bhp can be achieved via a chip change. UK importer for MTM gear is Quattro Sports on 01444 451542.

My main concern about this car, is that the smaller the engine relative to its power, the more turbo boost is required to achieve it, and the more turbo lag results.

Turbolag can be an issue, whether or not the driveability of the car is impacted significantly is still not answered. An extremely laggy car would be difficult to drive around town wnd the driver would really need to know the car well in order to 'drive it well'. A car with a bit of turbolag wouldn't disappoint me to much if it had a high redline and the turbo had the balls to make the car a true kick in the pants.
If chipped and putting out 300+ hp, that wouldn't be too bad. I'll have to look up the weight of this car. If it is scoring 0-60 MPH in 5.7 sec - it must be a decent weight to hp ratio.
