Competing in the GT2 class, the previous model managed to win the Nurburgring 24 hour race and also scored a number of wins during last year’s Le Mans series. For the latest model designers have given the car a totally new front end, however the majority of innovations are hidden under the weight-optimized body. The 3.8L boxer engine of the GT3 RSR remains unchanged apart from slight improvements to details. It delivers 465hp (342kW) at 8,000 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 430Nm at 7,250 revs. The car’s six-speed sequential gearbox has also been given an upgrade, now considerably lighter and with less internal friction than its predecessor. Aside from the easily recognizable additional spoilers on the front apron, new air ducting with newly-designed side air outlets to generate more downforce and reduce drag have been added to the car. The rear end including the rear wing was taken over from the predecessor. Extensive changes to the suspension set-up increase mechanical grip considerably and the range of possible suspension set-ups was broadened. Aside from the GT3 Cup and the GT3 Cup S, the GT3 RSR is the third race car based on the Porsche 911 offered by Porsche Motorsport. Only 35 models will be produced and delivered to customer teams around the globe, each with a price tag of €349,800. Source: Motor Authority >> Porsche GT3 RSR: Most powerful racing 911 ![]() |

And according to Porsche websit, the car makes 485HP 8400RPM (not 465 at 8000 it says here) which is same as what the BMW claims for the M3 GT2, so probably it is the limit cause of the restrictors the rules require. Looks like it has even raced before going by these pics in Porsche website. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Porsche GT3 RSR: Most powerful racing 911 The RSR has been out for years. There was a 996 RSR before the 997 RSR. The one this thread is about is the 2nd gen 997 RSR for the 2009 season. |
