Some of you frequent worldcar fans visiters have probably had a look of pictures of a supossed 997 facelefted mule. The 997 has been around since July 2004 and now has 3 years on its neck. Although it hasn't aged at all it is time for a facelift. Judging by the pictures below the car is wearing almost no camo which indicated that it to be presented soon, Paris show anyone?
The new changes includes LED dim lights and LED rear lights. Additionally the rear lighty have been slightly changed in design and it seem like Porsche is going to bring back the red strip on the rear for the C4(four wheel drive) models. Additionally the car has a new slight more aggressive bumper.
I'm not liking the new front bumper. I like the look of the current 997 front - simple and without fuss. This one looks a bit loopy and Turbo-wannabe.
As for the rear lights, well, I like the look of the current 997 ones as well - like the front, simple yet effective. Still, at least these new 'bulging' taillight units could possibly look good. I liked the 996 C4S's light strip, too.
I agree, I can't find any fault in the current 997 design. I guess if the facelift doesn't do any major changes to the design, just little details it should be fine.
Here are two new pictures. The facelift isn't dramatic but I have read that the more dramatic changes will be under the skin. Such unseen and never heard of technology and that there will one be ONE engine option rather then a 911c and a 911cs. Additionally the new 911 model is said to be more powrful then the current 911cs in order to make toom for the Cayman and Boxster which will engine power bumped up.
