Nissan R35 GT-R 's ATTESA-ETS, Porsche's system (on 997tt and 959), and BMW's X-drive are the same type, using electronically controlled multiplate clutch to transfer torque, no center differential is used.
I think the real advantage Nissan had over Porsche is that due to marketing reason, a 991 has to be rear engined. Porsche would have a harder task tuning the chassis. Also, Porsche is disadvantaged in turns of aerodynamics as they can not put a diffuser at the rear, like the GT-R.

They've been testing the FL for what seems like years now!

Yeah, I'm starting to feel annoyed myself. It has almost been two years since we saw the first spyshots. Porsche is really dragging this and it better be worth it at the end. They are still testing the 911 in northern Sweden so we won't see it as Geneva. On the other hand it has been a few months since a face lifted Boxster or Cayman was spotted on public road, so they might be the first ones to be updated.

We just caught this lightly disguised 2009 911 on the Santa Monica Freeway. Now that the money is flowing in Hollywood again, Porsche has to make sure the next iteration of its rear-engined sports car will survive L.A. traffic.
The most noticeable change for next year will be the LED taillights seen here. The new units are easily spotted; our photographer saw them from over a half mile away. The lights get reshaped as well, though Porsche engineers are trying to hide that fact with some black tape that mimics the flat bottom of the current lenses.
New front and rear fascias will accompany the revised lighting setup, with larger air intakes up front incorporating the turn signals.
Click any of the images for a larger view, and don't miss the Jack in the Box antenna ball on the roof-mounted aerial. Wacky Germans.

The latest rumor is that Porsche will be unveiling it next month with the Carrera models sporting a 25hp increase.

Great change to the tail pipes! In my opinion that was the only wak spot of the whole design.

I saw these pictures in a Swedish newspaper. I don't know if they are new.

The article said that Haldex will supply the 4WD-system for the FL versions... I have no idea if this is true or not.
