Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

I think this car is going to be something closer to the E38 in terms of form than the E65/66. At least tha's what I hope, not that I hold the E65/66 in contempt, I quite like it actually.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

^^Yeah I like the E65 a lot too but it's just it looks too big and less athletic. I love the form factor of the previous one.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

Illustration: 2009 BMW 7-series

The pictures you see here are renderings of what the 2009 BMW 7-series might look like when it is unveiled sometime next year. These illustrations are a combination of information gleaned from spy shots of the big sedan captured during testing and cues taken from the CS Concept shown at the 2007 Shanghai Auto Show.

Like the last 3-series redesign that was more evolutionary than revolutionary, the 2009 7-series will return to a more conservative look, instead of the shocking aesthetic that the current sedan is known for. This rendering suggests that BMW may be coming to a middle ground with its exterior design; a compromise between the cutting-edge Bangle look that has characterized its cars over the last few years and the more traditionally handsome appearance displayed prior to the new millennium.

We predict that the renderings shown here are pretty precise. Of course, we won't know for sure until more than a year from now, but we hope the smoother surfaces and aggressive stance of the sedan in these pictures make it onto the production car.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

^yeah im pretty sure it wont look like that either
but you cant say the spyshots say diffrent..when the spyshots almost look like the existing 7er.. with some camo on.. the camo is to heavy still..
so underneath the camo..in theory it could be that car on the PS..
but i doubt it..

Indeed, not good enough...

The door handles are sitting too high, and the width/height ratio of the kidneys is not what it should be... they are too high, I expect something like the Concept CS...

The profile in that PS is really nice though and probably close to the real thing!

I find the second picture to be lovely. The rear looks great.

but in every spyshot you see that the shoulder line is high and the door handles sit quite high along the doors

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

Those are old illustrations. According to them, seven series would look like an oversized 3 series, which is unacceptable..

Look carefully to the rear end, and handles, it's just like you are looking current 3 series sedan... and whit that 6 wheel combination...

l hope this is not what it's going to look, it misses the "heavy" look all 7er are well known..
