I just love the F01 and F02 strategy. Now drivers don't have to be so confused whether to choose SWB or LWB.

BMW are wanting the F01 7er to be the performance choice in the executive luxury segment that is why for dynamics the Maserati Quattroporte as well as the Rolls-Royce Phantom have both been a benchmark as well as the usual suspects. The new 7er will offer more response and agility than it's competition as BMW aim to retain the sporty dynamic crown in all segments.

almost like MM57 and 62 all though the 57 is much more of a drivers car..its still not sporty..

but i could be wrong though..

F01 will be more driver oriented - allowing much more driver involvement & being more dynamic to drive. While F02 will focus a bit more on comfort, while still being dynamic.

Platform is the same, yet settings will be different.

I don't know whether the difference will be huge, but it will be bigger than it is now in E65 vs E66 case.

sure it will be a bigger diffrence..but to me its only marketing..cause there is only so much you can do with settings the cars will be the same behind the covers..

but still lets wait and see what these settings can do

That is an excellent idea. Offering a proper BMW and a true comfortable large sedan at the same time.

A BMW should be about driving first, foremost, and always, regardless of size or class.

True but the you have to remember that unlike the small sedan and medium sedan segment, the large sedan segment is defined by comfort, which is what the customers in that segment demands. For customers in that segment, handling is the least priority. Although there is a nice portion of people who do want a large sedan with good handling, comfort shouldn't be compromised.
Offering two settings or a sport suspension is in my opinion the best solution for BMW, despite the fact that I believe that BMW should stay true to it's philosophy no matter what segment.

They looked real to me. But then I seen the "illustration" tag in the pic.

I must admit, it looks pretty sweet though.
