![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 750HI - BMW to debut production hybrid 7 in Frankfurt? ![]() With BMW investing heavily in its Efficient Dynamics program, the next stage could be unveiled at its home-turf Frankfurt show this coming September. Reports out of France suggest that this is where the Bavarian automaker will unveil its 750Hi, a hybrid version of its latest 7-Series flagship sedan. Previewed by the 7-Series ActiveHybrid concept in Paris last fall, Munich's assault on the recently revealed S400 Hybrid from arch-rival Mercedes-Benz and the Lexus LS600h is expected to pair an electric motor with its highly-rated 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, providing over 400 horsepower in the unassisted, gas-burning version. While there is no word on how big the electric motor will be, but if Mercedes' solution is anything to go by, look for something in the neighborhood of 20 horsepower, while the new eight-speed automatic that debuted on the new 760i in Shanghai could see duty in the production hybrid due to potential packaging benefits. If the reports emerge as genuine, we should have more for you over the course of the summer as more details emerge. - http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/30/b...-in-frankfurt/

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 2009 BMW 750Hi to Debut at Frankfurt? ? Automotive News & Car Rumors at Automobile Magazine http://www.leftlanenews/bmw-750hi.html Seems like everyone else is calling it the 750HI. But no matter what the name may be this should be an outstanding vehicle. I'm proud of both BMW and Mercedes-Benz for finally bringing Hybrid production vehicles to the states. Toyota had that market locked down for years.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 755i hDrive will debut at Frankfurt in september , With the X6 hDrive debuting in Los Angeles in November. T is currently in Barcelona on the filming just now. This begins a hybird push for BMW in the next stage of Efficient Dynamics. True enough we will begin with the 7er and X6 , followed by the X5 and a Concept Active Hybrid should debut alongside the 5er , which BMW are considering following the successful debut and acceptence of the 760Li and BMW X5M in China. Are currently thinking of having the world Premiere of the new 5er in Shanghai in 2010 instead of Geneva. Further innovation with the new 5er relates to current discussion regarding incentives for hybrid vehicles in Europe that BMW will have ready on the back of the 5er launch will introduce not just a V8 Hybrid . But also a mid level Diesel Hybrid in which advantages of these incentives will greatly benefit either by Fleets such as the Polizei and other Emergency services , Taxi fleets and Government offices. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've heard hybrids would be labeled as "ih" and in diesel cases "dh" ... or Lih, Ldh in LWB cases. Since xDrive badge will still be there to indicate AWD system on board ... eg in X6 case : X6 xDrive55ih ![]() Imagine RWD X1 petrol mild-hybrid. There would be no sign of RWD / AWD otherwise if hDrive is used. In the "ih" case sDrive & xDrive tags will still be possible: eg. X1 sDrive28ih (eg. for RWD X1 with petrol I4 twin-turbo & mild-hybrid system) Btw, will BMW label both full & mild hybrid systems with a same label? That's a good question. Quote:
SWB in Geneva, LWB in Shanghai. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I wonder what the MPG will look like. I hope it's not 2 or 3 mpg then the regular car. I think that's why Mercedes didn't put the car with a big engine like Lexus. Guess will see........
