I hope the new 7 will move technolgy and designs on just as the E65 did!
I will hopefully be an awesome car! | after all this time, the design kinda grew on me...contrary to my principals, I gotta confess that I like it even more than the new S... | | | | | Expert

Right now it's just a matter of "wait and see", the car has just begun testing and we're not even close to getting the full scope of just how this car will look as the new front has been bolted on to an "old" body car. My guess is, as has been already said, is that BMW will excercise more visual restraint w/ the lines of this car, the E65/66 was a crap shoot and payed off w/ the social and image concsious buyer. Despite how many flamed the flame design car, people still bought it, and for once the 7er outsold the S-class, which was pretty amazing to see considering how well regraded the S-class has always been. I'm anticipating seeing what BMW has learnt from the past seven years by the time this car launches... shortly. | | | | | Contributor

The Turbocharged V8 follows closely the formula with the six cylinder - efficiency with excitement - with the new M3 capped to 407BHP the V8 will be close at 400BHP. | | | | | | Aficionado

So there is going to be a lighter/fuel eficient turbocharged V8 400 BHP.
So will this engine go into the next 740 i/Li ?!
I mean is it a 4 litre engine ?! | | | | | Junior Member

I've owned the 2002 bmw 745 for 4 years and i bought the new 750 in january and from what im seeing is these new models i would never buy them the main resaon i decided to buy them is the bold squaed of front and back but they keep taking away more and more every year and now they are taking it too far in my opinion | | | | | Advocate

my guess is 3.0 for 730, 3.0 turbo for 740, 4.0 turbo for 750 and 5.something turbo for 760, but i could easiluy be wrong | | | | | Aficionado

I though twin turbo engines where branded x5i, eg the 335i and the 535d!
Is the V12 going to get an update for the new car, it's looking a bit underpowered now against the competition! | | | | | Advocate

not necessarily, it's just that 340 is too much
imo its just a guess, but there is no room for a twin turbo and an NA V8 if the I6 turbo will be used, if not, maybe there will be a NA 4.0 liter outputting around 330-340hp with DI, and a TT version of it for the 750, the V12 is bound to be TT to counter the S600, | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
