I like the fact that they have the next 7 series and show the current A8 in the same page. They seem to forget that in 2008 A8 will also be replaced.

F01 stands for the car with normally long wheel base, F02 for the long version. And F10 stands for the next more ër, which will be under the sheet metal again partly identically constructed with the 7er. Nose and tail are absolutely identical against it whereby the designers went particularly with the shining units new ways. The side view works by an additional sheet metal crease in the doors, in which the light breaks, less laminar than so far. As had blackened roof posts stress and a thin chrome framework the window area as optical unit. After only one model generation the mechanism selector lever moves from the steering column back on the Getriebetunnell. Similarly as with the M5/M6 there are two switching levels: automatically (right lane) or manually (link lane). Who likes, can the courses also over push buttons in the steering wheel ring change. Around the selector lever grouped the control elements for the parking lock, the solenoid operated parking brake, the DSC and the sport mode are round. Easily to the right transferred thront the iDrive CONTROLLER, whose four function levels are to be developed allegedly more intuitively. Radio/CD and heater/ventilation can be adjusted also by direct access. While material-mix from wood, leathers and metal anything in principle new does not offer, BMW wants to spoil us with a no-draught climatic mechanism similarly that VOLKSWAGEN phaeton. The so-called Airolution system works with indirectly lit up outlets, which distribute air in the form of rollers kept at a moderate temperature in the passenger space.

The most important change under the sheet metal concerns the adaptive pneumatic cushioning (dynamic air suspension), which is blocked allegedly in series. With this system BMW wants to set both with the comfort and with the driving dynamics new yardsticks. A goal: better as the s-class and better than the A8. nevertheless the surcharge list might grow further, because the native of Munich do not intend to do without the lucrative business with the expensive chassis extras. In the opposite: Beside the adjustable stabilizers (dynamic drive) and the larger wheels (even 21-Zoeller are possible) the new 7er might have to be had also with the active steering element and the xDrive Allradsystem. Likewise in preparation: Night-vision device, trace retaining warning system, spacer radar with extended brake function, a park cameras at nose and tail. The short 7er goes in September 2008 into series, the long version follows three months later. In motorizing changes not much: Six and eight-cylinder as Benziner and Diesels, over it the V12, which is to be recognized by the four final pipes. Gasoline direct injection is in coming, but the consistent interpretation on exhaust gas and consumption depends strongly on the Spritqualitaet. Something similar applies to the Diesel, which is dependent on reduced sulfur content and a comprehensive exhaust subsequent treatment. To both fuel procedures applies: The not yet finally defined European Union 5/D5-Normen are hardly to be fulfilled without profound engine-internal measures. As alternative a first hybrid variant is to be offered starting from 2009, which is developed in Teamwork with DaimlerChrysler and general of engine. Thus one will probably discuss in the future also this 7er. Only in completely different area.
