Front looks better on the hybrid. The 7 series should have gotten this front in the first place.

I wonder why the regular 7 series did not get the same front treatment.
I have to say this, but the Hybrid looks so much better than the regular 7 series.

Looks like BMW's version of the Hyperion:

BMW walking down the same path as Lexus did with the LS600h while Mercedes and Porsche are taking the V6 route making the overall consumption of the car as low as possible. I hope will see all these manufacturer's offering different hybrid versions. One with a low displacement engine and the other with a high displacement.

Considering that the V8TT is not much more thirsty than V6 MB uses, I don't think your argument is valid. Of course we will only have the final word soon when the cars are actually tested.

You can be sure of that

Well the new TT V8 may not be that thirsty but that will definitely make a difference with over all driving performance and whoever buys the B8 hybrid is not gonna drive it like a V6 hybrid. And don't forget that the new generation of V6 and V8 from MB is coming soon which will naturally gonna be used across all green tech they are making so the scale is gonna tip again.

Re: BMW 7er "Concept Active Hybrid" - 09-22-2008, 07:03 PM

I just can't wait to see what happens to the LS600hL when the MB and BMW hybrids go on sale. The point of a hybrid is save gas, not performance. The performance hybrid concept hasn't done well here in the U.S, outside of the LS600hL. Production is kept low so Lexus can say that they're "sold out", and old trick.

Yep, with start-stop function. Coming to the regular 7er in 2009.

I believe it was supposed to be available at launch but the project got delayed.
