F01's strongest attribute is its proportions. It is the sleekest barge around.

IMO proportions and sleek are not the same thing. A car can have goofy proportions or a goofy shape and still be sleek to some degree. This 7-Series is sleek for sure especially compared with the previous car, but there is something wrong with the front end in that picture foward of the A-pillar. Too long, like they've tried to put engine entirely behind the front axle line. The blocky upright front end couldn't be helped I guess with the new pedestrian regs.

The front wheels being so far forward -- it does give it an unusual (elongated) appearance -- but I have to say I think it looks superb -- I love it.

I think it's the raking lights and the vertical grill. It pulls the car in too many directions.

Could be, not sure. As always I won't have a definite opinion until the dealer down the street has them on his lot or I see it up close at Detroit in January.

You must be the first person (and I guess the only one) in the world who has issues with the proportions of F01 / F02.

If anything really works absolutely perfectly on this car (and any other forthcoming new generation BMW designs), are the proportions.

Btw, as you said: it looks strange IN THAT PIC! I can take a pic of any car - making it looking goofy & unattractive.
