It looks like Monaco blue, but it might be slightly diffrent and have a new name....

I'm really getting the idea that some of you people have way to much time on your hands never thought I would be reading such discussions about this car. At first the rear was no good but the front looked nice. Now about two weeks later the rear looks stunning and the front is criticised. Anyway the car seems to be on everyones mind so I would say that the goal of the design has already been reached.
So far my opinion is the same as it was, the car looks great! I must admit that they had more options with the front, I like the big kidneys but they could have made it a little more agressive looking. The rear on the other hand is just . And about the comparison with the old MB's ... come on dudes you can find ressamblences with almost every car if you think that looks alike, 'it looks just like that one too you see, they both have round wheels!'. Just because there are horizontal stripes in the rear light cluster???? I never saw anyone making this comparison to the 3 series rear lights and that has horizontal lines too you know, as do the X5 and X6. Ok the ones on the 7er are a bit wider, but they also bend upwards at the end, don't see the stripes on the MB's doing that.

Re: Official: The New BMW 7 Series

Fellow member swingfan over at german 7-forum.com had his first real life experience with the F01... Here is the link to his post :

BMW zeigte F01 in München - nie mehr BMW-Feeling? - Seite 5 - BMW 7er-Forum

Its in german, so here is a brief translation of his impressions :

- He was surprised that the car looks so different irl
- In his opinion one of the most beautiful BMW's in recent years
- Elegant but at the same time with much more character than expected
- From every angle the car looks like ready to jump..this is how a big Jaguar might look like

- Kidneys are neither too big nor to small irl
- Front looks different irl
- In pictures car looks 'rounded' ...irl much more edgy, sportier ..
- Number of slats in grille seems to depend on the use of 'Night vision'
- The car he saw was dark grey (probably sophisto grey) with shadowline
- Looked very precious and modern
- He was impressed by the ceramic applications : dark and shimmery appearence, cool touch
- New level of interior quality in selection of materials and details , even compared to S-class and A8
- Huge screen, nice i-drive graphic
- Rear seat space not 'huge'...F02 cures that.
Summary : Dreamcar, not tacky but very self confident statement of BMW

I've already told you all of that several times, but nobody wanted to believe me. Since I'm a "BMW fanatic".

IRL the car looks very formidable, and has such a huge presence. As said: to me one of the rare cars that gave me goose bumps (except the MB W126 & W150, and to some degree also the E24 6er - but not as much.

PS: didn't know grille bars count depends on NightVision.

It's Imperial Blue color.

And the interior: F01 vs E32

Re: Official: The New BMW 7 Series

True, the rear resembles more of an old E37 BMW 7er, the shape etc. than an old S-class.
But in the one with the Mercedes eblem it somehow crossed my mind that it resembled somewhat to an old S-class.

I guess it's too far fetched to see for alot of people but perception could be different by person, I saw it somehow. And I post it whether I was the only one, it's not about nitpicking at all just perception.
What's about to nitpick? I really like the car and from the post of Ralfd, it can only be better!

Well the guy who saw it is a member of 7-forum.com with various bimmers in his garages a fanboy which makes him incredibly biased. So I'm waiting for comments for an auto journalist or to see the car myself in the metal.

His opinion isn't worth less than the opinion from Mercedes fanboy from this board.
So who shall we believe? I trust my own instincts/feelings.
