Just looks like a design to add some depth to the graphic.

I think it's a part of the whole grafics design. It just looks good, that's what they are for

True but it mind end up looking like a "inferior" CS-wannabe which is best scenario would be if it has few few design elements in common with the 8-Series so that it has the ability to shine on it's own. Rather than resulting as the case like the X5 and X6.

^ I know exactly what you mean Hassan. I guess many of us were hoping the new 7 Series would take a lot more styling cues from the CS.

Having said that, it is not an unattractive car.

The more I look at it, the more I see it as a progression ...I know Bangle doesn't like the word "evolution"

Unattractive? Not a all. Although it's not a home run like the E92 and, Z4 and X6 which are both of very strong design character, the E65 is a much more mature car than the E65 which was somewhat experimental in its execution. I do agree with you that the F01 is a progression of the E65, there are various elements in it borrowed from the E65.

pretty lame they couldn't make the cd changer in-dash... Even the C class has that now.

Is it me, or the F01 sits notably higher than the E65?

Who still uses CD-player/charger these days?

It's almost as dated tech as tape player, or LP analogue gramophone.

F01 comes with 40GB hard drive ... 13GB available for music. Not to mention USB & AUX ports, and full iPod / iPhone / iTouch compatibility.
