They have completely abandoned the clamshell boot lid. The lines run horizontally which gives this car a very sleek and sophisticated appearance ....god I wish Mercedes would do the same.

The rear lights and the way the bumper is formed is following similar ideas to what is seen on the Mercedes C.

I'm just seeing it now, but look at the pic above, it seems like the red 'bars' in the rear light are flowing down from that side line that goes from teh back to the front, just

I have to be honest and say the rear lights are not doing it for me ...they seem slightly out of character with the rest of the vehicle -- they are not ugly though.

ok, stop right there, first audi influences, now this with a hint of C class. It has not completely been abandoned. From the side profile, the clamshell looks still there. It"s just more integrated in the rear.

The high belt line and relatively small greenhouse is more reminiscent of Audi than BMW.
