So why have the smiley there if when somebody uses it, it's seen as condescending?

I was trying to convey in an easy way how baffled I was by Klier's statement.

BMW 730d 245bhp Single turbo
BMW 740d 306bhp Twin turbo
BMW 750d 360bhp Tri-turbo

Seems perfect to me. It would be awkward if they called the tri-turbo '745d'.

Is only the F01/02 getting the "40d" badge or is the rest of the lineup also changing e.g. 335d -> 340d and 535d -> 540d if they receive the new diesel?

I don't want to make a meal of this issue on a public thread but for the record please recognise that this [You're crazy] smiley does nothing to suggest your own confusion. It is directed at someone other than yourself and it clearly is a suggestion of your disapproval of their opinion.

If you're "baffled" i.e. confused it would've been more polite to use this [I'm confused] smiley. Far more appropriate.

I'm not refuting the logic of your nomenclature and engine denominations vs. klier's. I'm just asking - let's be nice.

This list has been pretty accurate so far even though it was posted a long time ago (although it includes some small beauty imperfections e.g. incorrect torque figure for 760i & 220 kW instead of 225 kW for 740d which is named 735d in this list).

It's going to be called the 750d. It's obvious.

lol, no harm done with the smily
It sounded awkwark because 745d is something I have gotten used to, and 750d would be a brand new name. But now that they've called the 306 hp diesel 740d, 750d sound pretty logical for the tri-turbo diesel. It's sinking in already BMW naming isn't really reflecting engine displacement anymore anyways...

Now, why haven't we seen pictures of the M sport seats for the M pack 7er yet??? I am dying to see them, but still haven't found anything. Just the mention of them in the press release...
