I found the main benefit of having that double hump in the dashboard is that it bars direct sun light and gives the screen a better resolution. Driving in daylight and using that screen is kind of difficult in the X5/X6 having too much light and brightness which makes the double hump more practical since you know the screen is not that up right compared to say other BMWs. I think the new design will be more handsome but not more practical. |

I´ve been seeing today some BMWs in a BMW concessionary, and man, if the 7er interior is like the X5 one... Huge, that is what it will be. What a material quallity, perfect steering wheel, fantastic gear joystick... I know the 7er wont have the same quallity that the X5, it will have a better one. |

Looks more like a mid-size interior design then BMW's flagship. Hopefully they will prove me wrong.

![]() | Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Should we expect this released at Paris or before then? I am curious because this release may affect the release of the E90 LCI / New iDrive this fall. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

![]() | Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Yep even if there is a VAST imrpovement in finish, build etc. becuase this is just a mock up, the design is just so ho hum for a flagship. It really does look like it belongs in a 3er or 5, NOT a 7! I'm a big fan of the current 7's interior. Apart from some ergonomic issues and the plethora of buttons, I love the design of the current 7's interior. In the right colours it looks fantastic. The new one looks disappointing. |

The only thing I can judge by is the general shape of it, you just have to look at the picture posted by HoH to se that it is bogus. But this far it seems nice enough! We shall have to wait for the more daring interior design of the 8-series (or whatever they will call the model). It looks like a natural developement of the current 7-series. ![]() Maybe there is a reason?

![]() | Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Dam! I loved how the old 7er had the iDrive up on the centre console. Was very easy place to use it from and had those very comfortable armrest cushions. Is it me or is it possible that Scott and EnI are BS us with some imformation so that when the car is released in full, not only will we be blown away, but also surprised at how good the car is (depending on if it is as good as they say it will!) Personally, this interior (design) is so below par compared to the S Class it's not funny. It's almost a carbon copy of the X5/X6. I expect that we will see much better when release time comes around...

They'll prove you wrong. The whole layout looks much more up-scale. Yet the resemblance to X5 / X6 is still very much present. And btw ... 7-series is no longer BMW's flagship. The upcoming 4dr Gran Turismo is. ![]() | |

![]() | Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Uhm...Eni....that car is years off. The 7er is BMWs flagship for now. And btw, it's exactly the people I thought that are bitching about the interior pic, so that leaves me cold too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) It's right that the interior is too much X5-oriented. It really cannot stand against the S-Class, if it's really looking like that. However it already looks way cleaner than the e65, it may have more buttons they are perfectly organized and the whole is not a mess like it was. Also, the fact that the cheap grey plastic inserts are gone is extremely good... There is a scroll on the steering, too, it could improve the iDrive experience. Does it mean the iDrive has been re-thought? The big glossy "screen" where the climate controls are is quite new for a German car. Saw merely on Japanese cars before. Looks like a H/K ampli... From this pic I think I see two little bars above the rotating buttons, where the temperature will be displayed. However, could it be that the display is bigger, with big numbers and some cool "animation" for the A/C? It could give a "high-tech" flair to the interior (but the risk is to appear tacky)... See, a bit like the big Volvo-seats for the A/C, or something like that...
