I believe the rear depicted in AutoBild is wrong. If I follow the lines closely of all the spy shots so far, I come up with the attached picture.

But maybe it's just another guess.

More over, the absence of a chrome list on the sides makes the car look like a bar of soap.

i'm quite surpised about this interior after looking at it again. It strikes me that the design direction of the dash is basically the same as previous, guess their playing safe with interiors too

i'd thought we'd see hints of the CS interior, with new switchgear and maybe a driver orientated dash at a stretch. hmm

The CS interior is reserved for the 8-series. It would be unrealistic to expect to see any of it in the F01.

[quote=Ralfd;293822]Here are some technical facts from the AutoBild article :

The author is disappointed that BMW missed the chance to differentiate the LWB version from the SWB version

Have I missed something? Up until now I tought we would get two exterior themes: sporty for SWB, classy & opulent for LWB. Eni? Scott?

As a true enthousiast having the chance to work in the auto industry, I still do trust BMW: despite those early pics & CGIs, I know they just cannot get it wrong. It WILL BE A STUNNING CAR!

4wd &/ or 4ws, turbos everywhere, 571 hp V12, Internet Access => Yes I'm a beliver!

I think we should relax ourselves. there are 3 months until we see the oficial pics, but until then, may be EnI or Scott can give us a more precise ideas about the car desing.

I think that is why we are a bit confused, because we´ve been hearing little parts of good ideas, and we still don´t see them on the FEP.

I find the I Drive controller positioning on our X5 extremely awkward. If the front seat passenger is sitting with their arm on the arm rest, your arm/hand has to contort VERY awkwardly to control the I drive knob. Even when they're not resting their arms there it just doesn't fall in a natural position. Maybe I'm the only one.

Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!)

OK Listen Up?

The Interior picture is an exact representation of the actual dashboard - current 7er customers are very pleased with the interior design led surface that offers a very lounge look to the interior So this was not to be radically changed as much.

But here is the facts although the picture is exact, the representation is not . which means (to my concern) is that the picture comes from a prototype or a supplier , or an interior mock up used to check driving position , legroom etc at BMW design.
As I said these interiors are mock ups and not finished with the chosen material in which some have been discussing the lack of quality from these pictures. When you see the finished model (which is very much designed and detailed with quality influences from Rolls-Royce) You will see quality , workmanship and excellent attention to detail in the finished car.
The overall look is something very special. If you were expecting a sporty-orientated dash like the CS Concept again what do we put in that car if it is to stand alone in it's segment?

Over the interpreatation of the actual car , I will repeat again there is some accurate representation of shapes the car will take but the details that you like to think are correct or wrong are over exaggerated , and poorly represented in the form the digital artists chose to use. You are basing judgement on an artists vision which brings it back to 2001 all over again with the E65. As I said before 7er is the flagship (for now) The CS production model expected to be called simply BMW CS (Coupe/Sedan) "Gran-Turismo" will then fill that spot but amongst the bookends 1er to 7er , You will see the more adventurous products from Z-X.

I stand by my statement that when you see the car for the first time, when you see it stationary , when you see the camera swoop over it's body , when you see it move and charging down beside a clear blue sea, and a overly dynamic coastal road you will see that it is a very beautiful addition to the segment, And how it drives? For such a large car it is incredibly agile. I am afraid to say that some people will be disappointed but they will be in Stuttgart and Ingolstadt.

It's up to you whether you want to challenge my claims but with the comments of "I am seriously disappointed in the styling" bringing back memories I will leave you with a little incident that happened at the IAA in 2003. BMW had launched the X3 , 6er Coupe and the 545i and whilst sitting in the 5er passenger seat having just shown a prospective viewer the car , whilst writing comments on a pad , an Amercan gentleman sat beside me in the drivers seat , he told me what he thought of the E60's design and the Chris Bangle rant . He told me he had a deposit for the then upcoming M5,
but said you had lost a customer because of the way it looks , So I guess my reply stunned him when I told him that I am 100% sure we will get another customer for your M5. Good day.

Again I must say that I rarely say this to people who aren't me.
But you all have got to calm down!
