Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) - 06-05-2008, 05:06 PM

Today was the last day of the 7er . Now out of my hands it is on it's way to become serialized for the press introduction. The brochures are now getting printed and the press release getting typed up. The film is edited , now seen today in a rough cut with chosen music and rough sound effects which will be touched up and finished by the outside media company. I tell you once again when you see this baby move you will see that everything connects the purpose , especially with the negative comments surrounding it's upright large front end which is due to European legislation on pedestrian safety .
The campaign itself is to showcase elegance , emotion and creativity think the X6 campaign taken up one level. It will be very visual.
Now I get to work on the new MINI Concept Car (Another MINI Party room planned for Paris like Clubman Lounge @ IAA) which will be pure MINI (just pure raw energy) And the Z4 (kinetic and dynamically creative and dare I say it Arty?

Of course I look forward to taking you to the next level this July.

No M7 , There is the M5 and that will remain BMW's top end core premium sports sedan. There is room for an M version of the CS Concept Car when it hits for production. This model offers a better solution for a performance model by M-Division.

I think the image reinterpreted by Ascariss was one of the best yet to showcase some exact representation of the actual car , Of course it is not exact , infact nonone has come close to the overall look with slight over and under exaggeration of key details. So what if it is based off a 3er . You have to begin with a base. I am just glad that it was not slammed down to a few inches of the ground , wearing a hidious bodykit and oversized wheels .

Thanks for the continual updates of the F01 program, not long now..just gotta sit patiently in anticipation.

Real bummer that there won't be an M7 because the 7er seems to have a very similar stance to the current 5er (except stretched a bit more of course), so it would have made for another stunning M model.

Just curious also, is BMW still following what you hinted at earlier in the new 7er's development where the LWB variant will have a more sedated look to it, while the SWB 7er will be touch more sporty and dynamic... or has BMW shelved this idea of design differentiation because of the CS Concept/8er model which will be coming in a few year?

Please tell me there's at least an M-package planned for the 7er, ala X5?

My sources say there will be optional M-package available later for the F01 7er - featuring exterior & interior trim initially planed for standard F01 to differentiate it form F02. Sportier appearance on board.

Well as good as it is that an M-package will be offered, kinda sucks from an enthusiasts point of view that BMW scrapped plans to differentiate the F01 and F02 variants.
So much for the two-pronged attack on the S-class and the ever-increasing advancements of the A8.

Ah well, I guess it was the cost-effective option.

I always had doubts about the differenciation between the SWB & FWB version and i also doubt they will offer an M pack for the 7 er, they have never done it and i don't see reasons why they should change their approach.
