it means that what controls the opening and closing sequence of the valves is not a mechanical system via the camshaft, but rather an electromagnetic system that uses EM fields and as a consequence the force arising from the field to force open and close the metallic valves
in other words this new engine is no longer termed as DOHC or whatever since it effectively is camless
the technology should be based on solenoids
this should greatly improve engine efficiency especially during idling times
yes people this is the new development of what used to be valvetronic
