What a relief, thank goodness for that! One of my key criticisms of BMW with the launch of the E65 7er was their lack of marketing effort focusing on the company's change of direction in terms of styling. The car was big, bold and brash, and BMW just let everyone create their own perceptions of the car and the company's overall direction rather than inform and enlight everyone about the huge step they had just taken (and more imporantly WHY), and ofcourse explain the design language a bit more. I know on the BMWUSA website there's a section where BMW designers explain each design element (I remember I saw one with Chris Bangle and Adrian van H-
something) I wish BMW had done this with their marketing... and I really hope they give added focus in explaining things now.... coz I get the feeling the world will be expecting another dramatic shift in design, but Bangle has made it clear that second generation Bangle cars will be more an evolution rather than a revolution.
Either way, great to see BMW planning to fully utlise one of their biggest assets - their marketing prowess!
