Put an e46 next to an e90, and I take the e46 in a heartbeat. For me a Beemer is sleek, elegant, sporty. All what Bangle destroyed. All the wonderful catlike shape and details are gone.

The Beemers are only beginning to regain lost ground, with the e92 and X6 (however I don't like SUVs), and the next 8 if it looks like the CS.

Blah blah blah blah..... yes Raoul, I think we all get the hint that you're not much of a fan of current BMW's and Rolls Royce's.

Yes sure you got your valid reasons, but there's no need to bash BMW at every chance you get. Rather repetitive, un-needed, and very much bordering on annoying. We know you don't like the direction BMW's chosen... but give your BMW-bashing a rest for once...

You seem to lack any sort of appreciation and objectivity in your assessment of various cars... especially when you say stupid crap like 'I hate the 5er' ... and 'they could have been American cars'...

...seems like you take your signature about 'cynism' too literally.

Not to mention the Audi A8, they even copied how external mirrors are closed, they have that same up-rotating function as E65 ...

l cant forget how huge effect BMW E65 left on people when l bought it back in 2004. It had that admiring effect. Now when you see a new S class, it looks like it's 10 years old, when E65 was introduced it looked like a space craft. No other car will make such a big impression for a long time (considering limo. from that class).

Exactly my toughts. The E65 was the car that trully said, gentlemen this is the 21st century.

Well I think I have the right to give my opinion, I just noticed that EnI seemed very very happy that the next 7er will have a lot of e38 in it.
And I don't bash every Beemer like you says, I always said I like the e92, that I find the X6 beautiful and the CS gorgeous.

I only wanted to say that, imo, when the next 7 and 5 will be on the market everybody will begin to say "they look like true BMW, not like the precedent".

Notice also that I don't criticize the cars, only the design, and that I perfectly reckon the 7er was a revolution and inspired (to say the least) the interior of the W221. And when I ctiticize I have good reason to do so and I know what I'm saying because I tried it.

I am not a BMW-hater, I just find the Bangle look awful. I am not alone. And I am very happy to see the next Beemers are much better. (BMW: Bangle Muss Weg)

Please notice also that, even if I am Mercedes-biased (and I reckon it) it does not restraint me from criticizing the Benzes I don't like. And when I criticize it is never without ground, just because of a brand or anything, I always try to justify my opinion.

Don't be so upset when someone does not like your precious BMW!

Anyway I thought we should talk about the F01, the discussion about the e65 and Bangle was ended?

Re: F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics -- PART II

Funny.

Eni claims without hesitation that it's Paris

Scott says it's Geneva (much sooner)

We'll see. All I know is that we don't know.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics -- PART II

Geneva sounds far too early considering the FEP prototypes have just recently hit the streets.

And Geneva isn't big enough to have such a privilege.

Geneva is with Frankfurt (IAA) the biggest car show in Europe by far. The Geneva car show is much more important than the Paris car show.

Tycoon: there is no Frankfurt I think in 2008. IAA is once every 2 years.

But from what we've seen so far without any FEP pics or anything, I too think Geneva show might be a bit early, but hey...
