I think Im going to have to agree with some of
"The Artist's" comments here. All that ///M philosophy BS seems to have brainwashed most people. Sadly (IMO) over last decade BMW has been losing their direction. 10 years ago if someone mentioned that BMW should turbo charge the 3 series he would get flamed and hear "its against BMW Philosiphy" crap. The very same thing is going to happen with the ///M 7. Right now everyones saying 'NO! tis against ///M Philosophy and the Alpina B7 is okay" but make no mistake, you will be proven wrong in the not so distant future.
Who invented the Sports sedan? It was BMW. Thats their philosiphy , making luxury cars with the essence of sportiness. Sadly BMW nowadays is more worried about capturing market share with the production of pointless cars such as the X3/X6 which will yield them higher incomes. Its all the greed for money which has made them lose their direction.
BMW is well aware and so are its clients that if you dont buy a BMW merely for its opulence but for its more sportier/entertaining driving personality and most BMW clients are more then willing to sacrifice a bit of comfort for a "sports car feel". So why cant you build an M7? Yes the 7er is big and heavy but so is the 5er. If they can turn the 5er into the sports sedan then they can definitely turn the 7er into a sports sedan too. Cut the crap with the excuses already.
Its already shameful that the car manufacturer that stood out from the crowd for its "sportiness" is the only one amongst its closest rivals to have not built a super car.
Scott, I respect most of your posts and you're a great asset to
GCZ but your last post is a typical example of a pointless remark. Its as good as saying that BMW should not make a 4 door M3 because it will drain M5 sales, character, status, etc so save that excuse for the shallow minded.
I would also like to offer my sincere apologies if If I offended anyone but I just had to let this out.
