^^ Yawn.

Anyhow, no point... no matter how dynamic the new 7er is.

Why would we want a stiffer and more track oriented huge-ass over-stretch over-weight sedan ?!

I'm all for adding more power and a sport kit for looks, but that's not really what makes an M car.

The 7er, S-class and A8 are all large cars which are meant to offer supreme comfort and by trying turn one of them into a hardcore M car you would be going against the concept of the whole car, i.e destroying it by turning it into a car which make you feel every bump on the road. Kind of an oxymoron.

im sure both BMW and the fans will come up with new excuse in line with things like.. the new 7er is dynamic..and bla bla bla..
but we all really know the only philosophy there is .. and its shared by all other brands..
MAKE A CAR THAT MAKES MONEY AND SELLS... thats the ultimate philosophy..
and that can not be achived with the current 7er..

im gonna get FLAMED as hell for this one.. but i had to say it
What are you? 17 years old? You really think they didn't make an M7 because YOU think it's an ugly car????
I'm sorry, but I lol'd
And for the record, the E65 7er is the best selling 7er in BMW history.

Anyways, I am happy with BMW going with a fast 1er before a fast 7er.
I too think an M7 is completely crazy. If people want a fast huge car, they can go for the S65, I really don't care a bit.
If I would want something like that, I'd put a biturbo on my 760i

^^^^ that is just an honestly rubbish post... the 7 series is no where near as ugly as its stereotyped... drive one.. see one in real life... in black... its mega... The s class driving towards you on a road is what i call an ugly car sorry... its proportions are shocking

if mercedes can make a AMG out of the equally "ugly" S class then why cant BMW make a M7??? WHY? BMW is like AMG... it just not a matter of a big engine and a body kit and jack up the price... BMW is a real motor sports division

Please let's not turn this into a BMW vs MB thing.

I don't think BMW needs to make a M7. The Alpina B7 fills the need of a "Hot" 7-Series very nicely IMO.

M7 ...

F01 platform will be able to get proper M version - E65 eg. wasn't designed in that way. Yet with upcoming new 8er 4dr coupe (CS Concept based model) I doubt M7 will be offered at all. More possible: a sporty standard version in style of X5 "is" or 135i M: a "standard" vehicle with enhanced M package.

Or ...

My sources hinted me BMW were in talks with Alpina to completely take over the marketing & sales of Alpina models ... Meaning: buying "B" & "D" trademarks from Alpina, yet leaving all the production business in Buchloe. EG. like they did with John Cooper Works.

So Alpina models will officially become M alter egos ...

And B7 will be there instead of real M7 ... So M can focus on their business.

That's true Kowalski.

MPower cars are not like AMG -- AMG is really just obsessed with who's got the biggest balls.

AMG is not for the purists -- let's be honest here, AMG is about luxury and exclusivity more than anything else.

MPower was never supposed to be a prestige luxury option -- an M7 would just be BMW selling out imo.
