Ferrari Sees Record Sales in 2005

Date posted: 01-13-2006

MARANELLO, Italy — Ferrari sold a record number of cars — more than 5,000 — in 2005, driven by the popularity of the F430, the 612 Scaglietti and the 575 Superamerica.

The 612 Scaglietti, which made its world debut at the 2004 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the 575 Superamerica, which was unveiled at the 2005 Detroit show, sold well. Ferrari delivered 834 Scagliettis to customers, as well as its entire production run of 559 Superamericas.

Ferrari's presence this week at the 2006 Detroit show, where it previewed the new 599GTB for journalists and showed off its limited-edition FXX and a fancy two-tone 612 Scaglietti, underscores the significance of this market. North American sales of about 1,500 units per year account for 30 percent of the company's worldwide sales volume.

But Ferrari sales are also growing rapidly in other regions, including the Middle East (up 41 percent in 2005), Central and Eastern Europe (up 92 percent), and Latin America (up 36 percent). The company also doubled its sales in China, to 82.
So basicaly about 3600 F430 cars sold in 2005, 2 as many than all Lambo sales.
